Sidebottom stay pleases Giles
Australian Ryan Sidebottom has signed a new 12-month contract with Warwickshire.
The 28-year-old seamer, who has become a feature of the Bears' County Championship team in the second half of the season, was plucked from Birmingham League cricket with Berkswell.
His deal coincides with Edgbaston academy graduates George Panyai and Liam Banks agreeing two-years stays.
Teenage bowler Panayi made his debut in the day-night County Championship match against Lancashire at Edgbaston in June and has made two first-class appearance to date and has also won England Under-19 recognition.
Another Under-19 international Banks, an 18-year-old batsman, has been at the club for four years and graduated, with Panayi, to an academy development contract last season.
Before the televised Division One contest against leaders Essex at Edgbaston, Warwickshire's director of sport Ashley Giles said: "Ryan has been an excellent addition to the squad and we've been pleased with his performances in the three Championship games that he's played to date, with his 13 wickets coming at an average of just 18.3.
"He's worked incredibly hard to reach the professional ranks at this stage of his career and we look forward to seeing him challenge for a place in other formats of the game next season."
Warwickshire are 2.00 to beat Essex while a draw is available at 2.00.
