Janjetovic not fazed by 'banter'
Goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic insists a hostile reception in this weekend's Sydney derby won't bother him.
Janjetovic was targeted by Sydney FC fans when he played against them for the first time after switching to Western Sydney.
The 30-year-old, who had spent four seasons with the Sky Blues, had plastic snakes thrown at him in his first derby with Wanderers when the sides drew 2-2.
"It's just a bit of banter. For me it's nothing, it doesn't affect me one bit," said Janjetovic.
"Obviously you expect that having played for so long and moving over to the rival team. It's normal. They're just showing their passion and it's understandable."
Since their last meeting Sydney FC have climbed to top spot in the table, while Wanderers are taking time to get firing under new coach Josep Gombau. The former Adelaide United boss was appointed last month, but is yet to record a win for his new club.
Janjetovic though says it's only a matter of time before they start to flourish under Gombau.
"It's no secret we've had a few disruptions. I think everyone's handled it pretty well," added the keeper.
"Now that we've got a concrete base, a good coach, everyone knows what's expected of them; I think once we make that full circle with how Josep wants us to play I think we're going to be very hard to beat."
Wanderers have slipped to ninth in the table and only have one win from their first eight games, that lone success coming in the opening round under former caretaker coach Hayden Foxe.
Wanderers are 4.00 to beat Sydney FC, who are 1.90, with the draw 3.60.
