Roar draft in Oxborrow
Brisbane Roar have made midfielder Mitch Oxborrow their fourth signing of the off-season.
The Roar have brought in the former Perth Glory player after he left the Western Australia side at the end of last season.
Oxborrow had played 25 games for the Glory across the previous two seasons, with the 22-year-old having started his A-League career with Newcastle before joining Perth in 2015.
Coach John Aloisi has added him to a squad that has already been bolstered by the signings of Fahid Ben Khalfallah, Massimo Maccarone and Corey Gameiro.
Oxborrow said: "Brisbane is a great club with brilliant fans and I'm extremely grateful to be given this opportunity. My new team-mates have made me feel welcome and my focus now is doing my part for the team over the coming months."
Aloisi said the Roar were delighted to have added Oxborrow to his side for the 2017-18 campaign.
He added: "We believe he will be a valuable addition to our squad for the upcoming FFA Cup & A-League campaigns. Our squad has a good balance of youth and experience with healthy competition for places."
Meanwhile, former Australia U-23 international Vince Lia has signed for Adelaide United.
The 32-year-old left Wellington Phoenix at the end of last season, having played more than 200 games for the club.
Lia said: "It feels good to be back in Australia, a bit closer to home, and continuing my football career so I'm very happy to be here."
Versatile Lia has been in the A-League for the past 12 years and is likely to play a leadership role within Marco Kurz's team.
United are 7/5 to win their first game of the league season against Wellington Phoenix, who are 2/1, with the draw 12/5.
