Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says that he is not expecting David Luiz to leave the club during the January transfer window.
The defender's future at Stamford Bridge has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks. He has only played once since October and Arsenal has been mentioned as one possible destination.
My expectation is all the players we have in the squad will stay here and continue to work.Antonio Conte
Chelsea travel to play the Gunners in a London derby on Wednesday night and, ahead of the game, Conte told the media that he doesn't expect Luiz or any other members of the squad to leave the club this month.
He said: "David improved a lot his physical condition in the last couple of days. He worked with us and I think he could be in contention for the Norwich game (in the FA Cup).
"I'm very happy to work with these players. I don't see a problem. At the same time, I understand if some players are not playing regularly and want to leave.
"My expectation is all the players we have in the squad will stay here and continue to work. Our squad is not big and for this reason it's impossible to send on loan or sell one player if we don't sign another player."
Conte dismissed speculation linking the club to defender Giogio Chiellini whose contract with Juventus runs out at the end of the season.
Chelsea are 2.00 to win at the Emirates Stadium with Arsene Wenger's side at 2.00 and the draw 2.00.
Alvaro Morata is 5.00 to score the first goal on the night.
A win for Chelsea would enable them to leapfrog Manchester United into second place in the Premier League table while a win for the Gunners would push them to within three points of the top four.
