Patrice Evra is thrilled to be back in the Premier League after being snapped up by West Ham United on a short-term contract.

The 36-year-old, who was capped 81 times by France, left Manchester United in the summer of 2014 before going on to enjoy spells with Juventus and Marseille.

The defender, who will remain with the Hammers, 12122.00 to be relegated this season, until the end of June, worked with David Moyes during his time at Old Trafford.

"I am really happy to be a Hammer, to be back in the Premier League and I love this game!" said the left-back.

"It is amazing to be back and I am thankful to West Ham for giving me the opportunity to do my job. I am just happy to be here.

"The main thing was for me to join West Ham and to help my team-mates to win as many games as we can."

West Ham face Watford on Saturday and can be backed at 2.40 to beat the Hornets and at 3.00 to keep a clean sheet against a side that beat Chelsea 4-1 on Monday.

Moyes' side are 12th in the Premier League table but only three points above the drop-zone after slumping to a 3-1 loss at Brighton on Saturday, a result that extended their winless sequence to five games in all competitions.
