Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed that his heart is in Madrid and he will return to the city in the future.
The 25-year-old Belgium international spent three years on loan at Atletico Madrid earlier in his career and the shot-stopper's family still live in the city.
Courtois is set to hold new contract talks with Chelsea - his current Stamford Bridge deal expires at the end of next season - but he is being linked with a move to Real Madrid.
He said: "My personal situation is related to the city of Madrid. My two children live there with their mum. I have my daughter every day on FaceTime. She often tells me that she misses me. My son is still too small to communicate like that.
"Yes, my heart is in Madrid. It is logical and understandable.
"If they [Real Madrid] want me, they have to contact Chelsea. We'll see. But they have not done that. What is certain is that one day I will return to Madrid. I love Spain, I love the city, I spent three wonderful years there."
Courtois won the Premier League title with Chelsea in 2014/15 and 2016/17 as well as the League Cup in 2014/15.
Chelsea are currently involved in a battle to finish in the top four this season though and doubts remain as to whether boss Antonio Conte will still be at Stamford Bridge next season.
Chelsea are 26.00 to clinch a top-four spot this term and 1.33 to beat West Brom next Monday. The Blues are available at 1.72 to keep a clean sheet against the Baggies.
