Morgan injury a blow for Puel

Leicester City fear that skipper Wes Morgan could be facing a significant spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in the 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

Centre-back Morgan had to be replaced just before the half-hour mark of the clash with the Terriers on New Year's Day, with Foxes head coach Claude Puel concerned about the severity of the problem.

However, the Frenchman is less worried by a slight groin injury which kept striker Jamie Vardy out of the victory over Huddersfield.

He told the club's official website: "The bad thing is we lost Wes, I don't know how long for. It's a bad injury, a hamstring injury - he slipped on the pitch in the first half.

"With all the tiredness from the games we can see a lot of injuries with all the teams. It is difficult."

"Jamie isn't long-term. He is not bad - he felt something against Liverpool and it was a precaution about him.

"We will see for the next game - it's an important game for him in the FA Cup. We will not take a risk, but it isn't a bad injury."

Next up for Leicester is an FA Cup third-round tie at League One Fleetwood Town on Saturday, with Vardy hoping to recover in time to face the club he left to join the Foxes in the summer of 2012.

City are available at 1.57 to win the game in normal time and are 7.00 to claim a 2-0 victory, with Leicester 1213.00 to go all the way and lift the FA Cup for the first time in their history.
