Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed that David Silva is a doubt for Sunday's Premier League derby at Manchester United.

Guardiola revealed the news when he revealed that the Spain international playmaker failed to travel to the Ukraine with the rest of the City squad for their final Champions League group-stage match with Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.

Silva had problems in the last minute. I don't know if he will recover for Sunday.

The Spanish tactician said that Silva "felt uncomfortable" after he scored the winning goal seven minutes from time in Sunday's 2-1 victory against West Ham at the Etihad Stadium.

And, while Silva could have been rested for the Champions League given that City have already booked their place in the last 16 as Group F winners, the 31-year-old is in a race to be fit for the eagerly-awaited clash with United at Old Trafford.

Guardiola said in Tuesday's pre-match news conference: "Silva had problems in the last minute. I don't know if he will recover for Sunday."

If Silva is missing it will be a big blow for City given that he has scored two goals and has eight assists in 15 Premier League matches as the side sits eight points clear of their second-placed neighbours.

City are 2.20 to win at Old Trafford on Sunday, while United are available at 3.40 and the draw is priced at 3.60.
