Vettel maintains hope for 2018
Sebastian Vettel has seen his hopes of another world championship come to an end for another year but is now more determined than ever for 2018.
The German's bid for Ferrari's first world title in a decade ended with Lewis Hamilton winning again for Mercedes after the Mexican Grand Prix.
We still have a lot in us as a team, so that should make it easier to fight.Sebastian Vettel
That was a fourth title in a row for Mercedes but Vettel pushed him all the way and, with a contract with Ferrari taking him through until the end of the 2020 season, he hopes to win a fifth world title during that time.
He said: "I want to win the world championship for Ferrari. That's what I want. That's my goal and we have to realise that it doesn't work out this year.
"We still have a lot in us as a team, so that should make it easier to fight."
Vettel won his four world titles for Red Bull between 2010 and 2013 and was well placed to win his fifth midway through the 2017 season.
However, his last win was the Hungarian Grand Prix in July and Hamilton won five of the seven races since to secure the title with relative ease.
"It was great for us this year, as well for them, but I don't want to in any way take any glory away from him," Vettel added.
"He deserves every bit of it. Two races to go, he seals the championship and he deserves to win."
There are two races of the season still to come, ending with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in Yas Marinas on 26th November.
Before that, there is the Brazilian race in Sao Paulo this weekend and Vettel is 2.10 to win with Hamilton 15.00.
