Finnis expects Double test
Trainer Alyce Finnis admits Eye See Double will have a tough job on his hands as he looks to maintain his perfect record at Globe Derby on Saturday night.
The promising freshman is unbeaten from two starts, but will face his toughest test yet when he goes up against a very strong field in the Kindergarten Stakes.
Not only does Eye See Double have to take on a quality field, he also has to overcome a more than tricky barrier draw after being drawn wide on the front line.
Even so, Finnis says Eye See Double is in great shape heading into the race, and is now just hoping he gets some luck.
"It's quite a nice line up, so he will have his work cut out for him," Finnis said. "The wide draw makes it tough.
"The main dangers appear to be the two on the back row, but it's hard to judge as they're still all early two-year-olds.
"So far he has done everything we've asked of him and you can't ask for more than winning his two starts.
"He has trained on well since winning his heat last week and will be better again in the Final."
Elsewhere, Gottahaveahobby, who finished second behind Eye See Double in their qualifier, has drawn the inside of the back row, with Pinkie Promise on his outside.
Successful in his heat, Pinkie Promise boasts two wins and a second from three starts and looks to be the one to beat.
