Lenny set for Miracle return
Trainer David Aiken could not be happier with Lennytheshark as the outstanding pacer takes the first step towards Miracle Mile redemption on Saturday night.
Lennytheshark had to settle for second place behind Have Faith In Me in last season's race, but Aiken now believes he is ready to make amends this time around.
Lennytheshark has been drawn to lead throughout Saturday night's qualifier at Tabcorp Park Menangle as he bids to earn a berth in the 25th February showdown.
"I couldn't be happier with him heading into the weekend," Aiken said. "His work since the Hunter Cup a couple of weeks ago has been superb and he is in perfect conidtion.
"He's travelled up to and settled in well here in Sydney and is primed for this. From barrier two he should find the front and will be very hard to run down.
"This run will top him off to perfection, and barring bad luck or a shocking draw, he can certainly win the Miracle Mile next week."
Aiken also has Hectorjayjay engaged in the qualifiers, with the son of Dream Away drawn five.
Set to slot into four with the removal of the emergency, Hectorjayjay is also expected to burst to the front thanks to his brilliant gate speed.
"Given the way he comes out of the mobile, I can't see him being held out at the start," Aiken added. "He's also settled in well and been working great, so he's ready to run a quick mile."
