Trainer Shane Tritton has revealed Divine State will target the New South Wales Derby as he prepares to make his much-anticipated return.
The three-year-old has been sidelined since June but will return to action in the Simpson Memorial at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday night, where he will face some talented youngsters.

Tritton believes the spell has done his exciting pacer the world of good and says he has a good chance of winning first-up.
"After his last preparation we just wanted to give him a good break to mature," Tritton said. "The time off has done him the world of good."
Before the lay-off, Divine State picked up four wins from seven starts, and hopes to add to that tally this weekend.
"He hasn't raced since last June, but his track work has been enormous," Tritton added. "He is flying at home.
"Running a serious mile is what he enjoys, so we will drive him aggressively to try and separate the men from the boys."
Following this weekend's action, Divine State will contest local events as he works towards next month's New South Wales Derby. The Blue Riband is scheduled to be run at Menangle on 24th February, which is Miracle Mile day.
"We will give him a couple of starts between now and the Derby heats," Tritton added. "Whatever he does this weekend, he will certainly improve on."
