Marshall backs Broncos to cope
Benji Marshall feels Brisbane have already shown this year that they can cope with having to replace injured players.
Marshall has been called up for Friday's final against Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.
He will start at halfback as Kodi Nikorima is switching to fullback to cover for the injured Darius Boyd.
Marshall, though, says the Broncos won't worry about having a new-look spine to take on the Tricolours as they've had to deal with similar situations before.
We all know what our roles are and we know how important that is to our team.Benji Marshall
Injuries to Anthony Milford, Ben Hunt, Andrew McCullough and Boyd have forced significant changes without it affecting their season too much - they were able to chalk up 16 wins and finish third on the ladder.
Team changes are something other teams have also shown an ability to deal with. The Storm won the minor premiership despite using the third-most number of players in the competition.
Marshall said: "Nothing's changed from what's happened throughout the year.'Milf's' been out at some stage, Kodi's been out, Darius has been out earlier in the year, Ben Hunt's been out and everyone that has come in has done their job.
"For us collectively as a spine, whoever plays that position, we all know what our roles are and we know how important that is to our team."
The former Kiwis captain is preparing to play his 11th NRL finals match on Friday and says he's taking a relaxed approach.
The 32-year-old added: "It probably helps relax the team a bit. I know if you go into these games too worked up about the pressure it can affect you in a negative way but I'm just going to try and keep the group relaxed and have a bit of fun at training and keep it a little bit light-hearted."
The Broncos are 2.40 to beat the Roosters, who are 1.60. Brisbane are 2.00 with a four-point start.
