Radford demands more energy
Hull FC head coach Lee Radford has challenged his players to overcome the energy battle and beat St Helens in Friday evening's match.
Victory for Hull at the Totally Wicked Stadium would take them a step closer to sealing their place in the top four, while Saints must win to regain their spot in the group following Wakefield Trinity's big win over Leeds Rhinos on Thursday night.
Hull are 11/5 to win the match while St Helens are available at 4/11 to come out on top.
"We had a short turnaround last week, so understandably energy levels weren't going to be at the perfect level, but we've got to find a better intensity if we're to win. We certainly have enough in our ranks to get the two points," said Radford, following last week's win against Salford Red Devils, a week after they'd booked their place in the Challenge Cup Final.
"For our prop forwards, it's really important that they lay the foundations for the rest of the squad. We haven't done that the last two times out against Saints, as results have shown, so that will be a challenge for them in itself," Radford added, ahead of the clash against Justin Holbrook's in-form side.
"I think we've got to be a lot better consistently. I don't believe that Saints are beating teams solely on their energy levels, but they're beating teams with the energy that they're playing with."
Salford take on Castleford and Wigan face Huddersfield in Friday's other Super 8s fixtures.
