Sutcliffe eyes Old Trafford
Leeds Rhinos playmaker Liam Sutcliffe says he is eager to snap up the team's chance of winning the Super League Grand Final in 2017, having recently signed a new contract with the club.
The Rhinos have confirmed a home semi-final in the Super League Grand Final play-offs, with two games of the Super 8s still to play.
They will discover who their opponents will be later this month. As things stand, they would face Wigan Warriors.
"I am massively enjoying my rugby at the moment. We are guaranteed a home semi-final now and we are 80 minutes away from Old Trafford, which presents a huge opportunity for us," said Sutcliffe, who will be eager to force his way into the reckoning for a spot in the England squad at this autumn's Rugby League World Cup.
"Every time you pull on a Leeds shirt you want to be doing that at a Grand Final and we now have chance to do that, to appear at Old Trafford, and to lift the biggest trophy of the season. We have to make the most of that."
Sutcliffe's new deal will see him remain at the Rhinos until at least the end of 2021.
"People have been asking for a few months what I am planning for the future and I have had to keep my thoughts to myself," he said.
"I am over the moon to have agreed a new deal and it means I can focus on the years in front of me."
Leeds return to Super League action on Friday, when they are at home to Salford Red Devils.
The Rhinos are 1/4 to win and 3/1 to lose to the Red Devils.
Brian McDermott's side are 10/3 to win thr Grand Final this season.
