Early start for the NBA on Sunday
The NBA has six games on the slate for Sunday before the nation turns its collective attention to the Super Bowl later in the day.
Over in the Eastern Conference the Boston Celtics lead the Toronto Raptors by two games in the Atlantic Division.
Boston, 3.50 to win the Eastern Conference, has won three straight over the Denver Nuggets, the New York Knicks and the Atlanta Hawks, defeating the latter 119-110 at the TD Garden on Friday.
Two nights after recording a triple-double over the Knicks, Terry Rozier led the way with 31 points on 11-of-18 from the floor.
Rozier started for the second game in place of the injured Kyrie Irving and the Celtics may have found themselves a very effective back up especially given that Marcus Smart is also out injured.
Off the court Boston was making news with reports that they have signed Greg Monroe for the rest of the season. The Phoenix Suns bought out Monroe earlier in the week and the Celtics apparently got the better of the New Orleans Pelicans in the chase to add the big man.
Sunday Boston welcomes in the Portland Trail Blazers for the finale of their three-game home stand before heading to play the Raptors at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto early next week.
Portland arrives at the TD Garden to face the Celtics after taking on the Raptors on Friday evening.
The Trail Blazers had come into the game on the back of a four-game winning streak, but were blown out by Toronto 130-105. DeMar DeRozan led the way with 35 points on 11-of-22 from the floor in the one-sided affair.
The Celtics are 1000.00 to win the NBA Championship with the Raptors 5000.00 and the Cleveland Cavaliers priced at 5.50.
