Pistons power past Trail Blazers
So far Blake Griffin continues to be the answer for the Detroit Pistons, as the hosts handled the Portland Trail Blazers 111-91 Monday at the Little Caesars Arena.
Leading the way for the Pistons was Griffin, as the 28-year-old power forward from Oklahoma City scored a game high 21 points, while pulling down nine rebounds and passing out six assists for the game.
Detroit is 3-0 since trading for Griffin from the rebuilding Los Angeles Clippers and overall are on a four-game winning streak.
The Pistons are currently in eighth place in the Eastern Conference and have the same win percentage as the Philadelphia 76ers, sitting at .500 on the campaign.
Detroit are 5000.00 to win the Eastern Conference, with the Boston Celtics 3.50 and the Toronto Raptors 5000.00.
Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers were led by Damian Lillard, as the 27-year-old point guard from Oakland, California scored a team high 20 points, while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists for the game.
Portland continues to be an up and down squad, with the Trail Blazers expected to attempt a trade at the deadline.
The visitors from Oregon are currently in seventh place in the Western Conference with a record of 29-25 on the season.
With both the New Orleans Pelicans and the Clippers taking major hits towards their play-off resumes, Portland should be primed to make the Western Conference Playoff this season.
It's now back to the west coast for the Trail Blazers, who host the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday, make a quick trip to Sacramento on Friday to face the Kings, before returning home to the Moda Center for the arrival of the Utah Jazz and the Golden State Warriors.
