Duke has little trouble with Furman
Marvin Bagley III scored 24 points on Monday evening as the Duke Blue Devils crushed the Furman Paladins 92-63 at the Cameron Indoor Center in Durham, NC.
The freshman has been in dominating form and seems destined to be the top pick in the 2018 NBA Draft despite the play of Luka Doncic over in Europe.
Bagley was 9-of-15 from the floor for the Blue Devils who continue to be ranked first in the nation in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
It's now on to Portland to play Portland State in the Phil Knight Invitational. Butler or Texas will follow in the second round with Florida, Stanford, Ohio State and Gonzaga in the bottom half of the bracket.
Portland State has won all four games to start the season, but it would be a surprise if the Big Sky side could test Duke.
Meanwhile second ranked Arizona is in the Bahamas to play in the Battle for Atlantis Tournament. The Wildcats take on the Wolfpack of North Carolina State in their opener with SMU or Northern Iowa on tap for the second game.
Villanova, Western Kentucky, Purdue and Tennessee make up the rest of the Tournament in what should be a useful test for Arizona in the early going.
Winners over Northern Arizona, UMBC and Cal State Bakersfield in their opening three games of the season, the Wildcats continue to be led by Allonzo Trier who scored 28 against the Roadrunners in the 91-58 triumph last time out.
Duke are 3001.00 to win the NCAAB title this season.
