The Catamounts of Western Carolina are the visitors to the Williams Arena in Minneapolis on Sunday as they take on the Golden Gophers of Minnesota.
Ranked 14th in the nation in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll, the Gophers have won all three contests so far against South Carolina Upstate, Providence and Niagara with the 86-74 win over the Friars at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence.
Jordan Murphy scored 23 points in the win over the Friars and dropped in 18 against the Purple Eagles of Niagara on Wednesday.
All five starters were in double figures against Niagara and Minnesota has hopes of challenging Michigan State, Purdue and Northwestern in the Big Ten this season.
The Boilermakers are also undefeated in the early going and picked up a nice victory over Marquette in Milwaukee earlier in the week while the Wildcats fell to the Creighton Bluejays in an upset.
One place below the Gophers in the AP Poll the Musketeers of Xavier outscored the Wisconsin Badgers 16-6 in the final four minutes of their game at the Kohl Center in Madison on Thursday to complete an 80-70 triumph.
Senior Trevon Bluiett paced the Musketeers with 25 points on 6-of-13 from the floor including 3-of-6 from long range.
Xavier, considered something of a dark horse in the national title race, take on Hampton on Monday before heading to Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Invitational where they will face George Washington on Thanksgiving and then either Kansas State or Arizona State.
Duke Blue Devils are 3001.00 to win the NCAAB title with the Arizona Wildcats 3001.00 and the Kentucky Wildcats priced at 3001.00.
