Sun Devils continue to climb

The Arizona Sun Devils have parlayed a 10-0 start into the #3 ranking in the country, at least according to the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, which sees the Pac-12 side trail only the Villanova Wildcats and the Michigan State Spartans.

It's worth noting who the Sun Devils have defeated as there is a higher caliber of opponent than usual in Arizona State's impressive start to the campaign.

Idaho State, San Diego State, Northern Arizona, UC Irvine, Kansas State, #15 Xavier, San Francisco, St. John's, #2 Kansas and Vanderbilt have all fallen by the way side with the 10 point win over the Jayhawks and the 16 point defeat of the Musketeers the most noticeable.

The first Pac-12 Conference game of the year looms large for the Sun Devils at the end of the month when they visit the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson.

The Lancers of Longwood and Pacific Tigers are both on the slate this week and head coach Bobby Hurley will have concerns about the focus of his side against a pair of opponents with losing records.

One place above Arizona State in the standings the Spartans thumped Houston Baptist on Monday at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.

Miles Bridges poured in 33 points and three other Michigan State players were in double figures in the one sided affair as the hosts shot 64.3% from the floor.

This one was nothing more than a stat padder for the Spartans who play Long Beach State later in the week.

Arizona are 3001.00 to win the NCAAB Championship this season.
