Bulldogs welcome in Wildcats
The Georgia Bulldogs hope of a national title took a huge hit this past weekend when they were unmercifully thumped 40-17 by the Auburn Tigers.
That dropped the Bulldogs to seventh in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll and with just two weeks left in the regular campaign, Georgia has little time to regroup.
First up is a visit from the Kentucky Wildcats to Sanford Stadium in Athens, before the Bulldogs take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at the Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta.
Georgia could only gain 46 yards on 32 carries against the Tigers with Nick Chubb held to 27 of those yards on 11 rushes.
Chubb scored the opening touchdown for the visitors at the Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn and Jake Fromm connected with Riley Ridley on a 14-yard score with a little over two minutes left in regulation.
Between those two events only a Rodrigo Blankenship field goal blemished a run of 40 points by the Tigers who will play Louisiana Monroe this week before an Iron Bowl match up against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The Tide also gets a cupcake match up against Mercer before heading to Auburn. Alabama eased to a 30-12 victory over the Tigers last year in Tuscaloosa and has not lost since 2013 to Auburn.
Regardless Georgia has clinched the SEC East Division crown this season and will await the winner of the West Division at the home of the Atlanta Falcons, the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Alabama are 2.80 to win the NCAAF with Oklahoma 4.50 and Clemson Tigers priced at 3.25.
