Ohio State faces Michigan
For the 114th time of asking the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines will meet, this year in Ann Arbor, in a match up simply known as The Game.
It is, with due deference to the likes of the Iron Bowl, the Army-Navy game, The Red River Showdown, Bedlam and countless other noted rivalries, simply the greatest of all the college football match ups and considered only challenged by Duke vs. North Carolina in college basketball, for the greatest American sporting rivalry.
This year the battle between the Buckeyes and the Wolverines will not decide anything in the Big Ten with Ohio State and Wisconsin already crowned the respective winners of the East and West Divisions.
However the Buckeyes do have an outside chance of crashing the College Football Playoff should they win out and Michigan will need no more motivation than that as they attempt to pull the upset.
Defeats to Oklahoma, when Ohio State was thoroughly outplayed, and to Iowa, when the Hawkeyes hung 55 points on the Buckeyes, will be hard to overcome in terms of perception and Ohio State probably has to win with style against both Michigan and Wisconsin.
Meanwhile the Wolverines have lost three times this season, to Michigan State, Penn State and last week against the Badgers of Wisconsin.
Michigan's struggles this season have not been a surprise. Very talented, but extremely young, this was always going to be about gaining experience for Jim Harbaugh's side who will be one to watch next year particularly with their season opener against Notre Dame.
Ohio State are 9.00 to win the NCAAF title with Michigan 201.00 and Alabama Crimson Tide priced at 2.80.
