Former Australia bowler Glenn McGrath believes the Baggy Greens will bounce back from their defeat to England at Trent Bridge.

Having seen the tourists lose by just 14 runs in an emotional rollercoaster in Nottingham last week, McGrath is now looking ahead to the second Ashes Test at Lord's which gets underway on Thursday.

The former paceman was impressed with the resilient performance from his countrymen in the opening Test and believes they will be able to take plenty of positives into the encounter at Lord's.

McGrath said: "The Australians really fought back hard, they didn't lie down, and that was the most heartening thing.

"If they can take that into Lord's, and the top-order batsmen score a few more runs, then I think they've got a big chance.

"They need a win but there's a good feel around the Australian team. I like the energy (new coach) Darren Lehmann has brought in there and they seem to be a really close-knit team."

England are 10/11 to win at Lord's and take a 2-0 series lead, while they are 21/10 to have to settle for a draw at the Home of Cricket, with Australia 4/1 to secure victory and level the series at 1-1.
