Mikel Arteta is looking for better from the Gunners

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says his side need to improve their performances after the international break, despite the fact they extended their unbeaten run to five matches by drawing 0-0 at Brighton.

Saturday's goalless draw in the Premier League moved the Gunners into ninth in the league table and they are now 3/1 to finish in the top four, having avoided defeat in four successive league games.

I'm never happy with a point, but I don't think we deserved anything more than that.

After a slow start to the campaign, the Gunners now look to be finding their feet under Arteta, with Arsenal also through to the next round of the EFL Cup after beating Wimbledon 3-0.

On Saturday, Brighton had the better chances at the Amex Stadium, with Dan Burn, Leandro Trossard, Neal Maupay and Shane Duffy all missing opportunities to score.

Brighton boss Graham Potter claimed it was his side's best display of the season, but Arteta says his troops need to learn from the game on the South Coast.

Improvement in "many areas"

He told the club's official website: "We have to improve individually and collectively and prepare well, because a roller-coaster is coming with the amount of games.

"I'm never happy with a point, but I don't think we deserved anything more than that.

"We got a point because we defended really well in the last 15 or 20 metres of the pitch, and for the rest, I think it was a game that we have to improve and do better in many other areas.

"But in the end, we showed some resilience and we have to be happy with the block of games we have played and the results that we got, but I think we have to improve."
