Timing right for Arteta
Mikel Arteta believes the international break came at the right time for his Arsenal side but insists his new-look squad must be ready to hit the ground running when the Premier League resumes this weekend.
The Gunners are 4/11 to win their next league contest against Norwich, who can be backed at 7/1 with the draw at the Emirates Stadium 4/1.
Poor start to the season
Arteta's men have made a disappointing start to the 2021-22 campaign, losing all three of their opening Premier League matches against Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City.
The London side are yet to even score in the league this season and went into the recent international break rock bottom of the standings.
We have a completely different squad. It's unheard of.Mikel Arteta
But Arteta believes he will be fielding a "different team" this weekend with changes expected at the Emirates.
One player who fans will be hoping to see in action soon is deadline-day signing Takehiro Tomiyasu, the Japanese international defender who joined from Bologna but is still waiting for a work permit to be sorted.
Canaries next up
Arsenal's weekend opponents Norwich have also lost all three of their opening fixtures but are above Arteta's side due to the fact they have found the net.
In his pre-match press conference, Arteta said: "We needed some break to try and get players back. Hopefully by Saturday we will have a different team.
"We have a completely different squad. It's unheard of. Now we have to make it work, we have to glide it together, build relationships, chemistry and understanding. We have to do that really quickly."
