Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham believes team-mate Erling Haaland will only get even better because he's such a dedicated professional.

Dortmund have won six of their opening eight Bundesliga matches and they are 6/1 to be crowned champions this season, while rivals Bayern Munich are 1/12 to claim a 10th straight title.

Haaland marked his return from injury with a brace on Saturday as Borussia Dortmund toppled Mainz 3-1 to go top of the Bundesliga overnight.

He doesn't just turn up after a week on the sun bed, and go out and play.

The Norwegian sensation has netted nine goals in six league starts this season and has now scored 70 times in 68 appearances since arriving from Salzburg.

The 21-year-old signed for Dortmund after the German side matched his £17.1m buyout clause in 2019 and is going from strength to strength.

Haaland has also scored 12 times in 15 caps for Norway and is one of Europe's most sought-after strikers. He also has three assists and has built an excellent partnership with Marco Reus and Donny Malen.

And England international Bellingham believes Haaland is the real deal because he is so dedicated.

Speaking to the Bundesliga's official website, Bellingham said: "I stand here every week and tell you how great he is.

"The only thing more I can say is that the player that you see isn't a fluke. He doesn't just turn up after a week on the sun bed, and go out and play.

"He works his socks off every day to be a better striker."

Dortmund travel to Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday, hoping to make it three wins out of three in this season's competition.
