Patience the key for Gundogan's City
Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan insists his side will face more tough games like Saturday's FA Cup meeting with Everton in the run-in to the end of the season.
Gundogan's City beat the Toffees 2-0 at Goodison Park to book their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, meaning they still have a shot at securing an unprecedented quadruple trophy haul this season.
As well as their FA Cup exploits, City are also 14 points clear at the top of the Premier League standings, have a League Cup final with Tottenham to look forward to next month and are into the last eight of the Champions League.
Although City eventually prevailed against Everton, it took until the 84th minute for the Manchester club to break the deadlock through Gundogan before Kevin De Bruyne added a second in the 90th minute.
And former Borussia Dortmund talent Gundogan believes his side will have to keep "patient" in many of their crucial matches towards the end of the season.
Speaking after the game, Gundogan said: "These kinds of games are very tough so we knew it would be a struggle, but we overcame and did really well.
"Sometimes we do not get to play the best football or the most attractive football but it’s about finding the right moments, being patient.
"There will be a few more games like this so it is good practice from this one."
City are next set to take on high-flying Leicester in the Premier League after the international break and are 8/13 to secure the win, with the Foxes priced at 17/4 and the draw at 31/10.
