Tuchel's Blues full of belief
Thomas Tuchel says self-confidence was the key to Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City on Saturday.
The Blues were underdogs for their Wembley clash with quadruple-chasing City but an assured performance, capped by a winning goal from Hakim Ziyech, earned them a 1-0 win over the Premier League leaders.
Chelsea, who lost to Arsenal in last season's FA Cup final, will face either Leicester or Southampton in this year's showpiece and they are set for an exciting end to the season.
The Blues continue their pursuit of a top-four finish in the league on Tuesday when they welcome Brighton to Stamford Bridge. A win over the Seagulls would take them back into the top four after fourth-placed West Ham lost 3-2 at Newcastle on Saturday.
Tuchel's men face the Hammers at the London Stadium next weekend before the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.
The former Borussia Dortmund and Paris St-Germain boss has masterminded wins over Atletico Madrid and Porto in the knockout stages of the competition, keeping alive the Blues' hopes of reaching the final against either City or PSG.
Speaking after the FA Cup victory, Tuchel said: "We were very self-confident and very brave with the ball. We deserved the win. We were very active. We did not get passive.
"We are very happy with the performance and it will be a huge boost for our confidence and development. Nobody can rest on what we have. We have to keep on going."
Chelsea are 8/15 to win the FA Cup and 13/20 to beat Brighton in the Premier League on Tuesday.
