Phil Foden stunned at Anfield

Phil Foden says Manchester City showed character after coming from behind twice to draw 2-2 at Anfield against Liverpool.

The point sees them go up to third in the Premier League table with Liverpool second and City can be backed to retain their title at 4/6 with Liverpool 4/1, and top dogs Chelsea at 3/1.

It shows our character.

City spurned chances

A first half which City dominated without creating a hatful of chances saw both teams go into the dressing room with the score 0-0.

However, Sadio Mane's strike on the hour mark lit the match up after great work from Mohamed Salah.

Foden found the equaliser with a neat finish from a tight angle on the left-hand side of the box before Salah's brilliant solo effort restored Liverpool's advantage - his sixth Premier League goal of what has been a fantastic start to the campaign.

Point caps off fine week domestically

It has been a superb week in the Premier League at least for City following their 1-0 win at Chelsea.

It was a thrilling second-half fightback from City and Foden felt they showed plenty of bottle to rescue a point.

"It's very difficult to come here with the fans," said the England international. "It's one of the most difficult grounds to come to and we dealt with it really well today.

"It shows our character. We've not won here a lot but we carried on playing football when we went behind and didn't look bothered and played really well today."

City are next in action against Burnley on 16th October while Liverpool travel to Watford on the same day.
