Pep Guardiola saw his side lose to the Eagles

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias felt that there was a positive vibe among his team-mates during a disappointing 2-0 home defeat by Crystal Palace.

The Citizens suffered their second Premier League defeat of the season as the Eagles came out on top at the Etihad Stadium, with the men from Manchester now 1/8 to retain the league title they won last season.

Dias looks to the positives

However, despite the setback of losing ground in the title race to both leaders Chelsea and also Liverpool, Dias was far from downbeat, as he felt his side gave their all despite going down to ten men due to the sending-off of Aymeric Laporte.

The Portuguese told his club's official website: "The thing in my mind is the next game already.

"It might be 'one of these days' (where nothing goes right), but in life I believe there are none of those days. In this life you always need to bounce back and to turn it around."

I felt something that I feel will be very important going forward.

Dias added: "I felt that belief in the team, that even though things were not going as we wanted, everyone was giving their all - I felt something that I feel will be very important going forward.

"We know if we're not at the best, home or away, the difficulties will be there, so you've got to be there."

European date up next

Next up for City is a Champions League visit from Club Brugge on Wednesday evening, with the visitors having been thrashed 5-1 on their home turf two weeks ago.

Pep Guardiola's side have earned six points from their opening three games in Group A, with their lone defeat a 2-0 reverse at the hands of current group leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
