Anamoe in line for Rosehill outing
James Cummings has confirmed a tilt at the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes remains on the agenda for his exciting colt Anamoe, who is expected to be among Godolphin's major flagbearers in the spring.
Winner of three of his seven starts to date, Anamoe is rated a 7/2 chance to add to that tally in the Rosehill feature on 26th September.
An unlucky second to Stay Inside from an outside gate in the Golden Slipper Stakes two starts ago, Anamoe created a big impression when he atoned with an emphatic victory in the Group 1 ATC Sires' Produce Stakes.
The son of Street Boss has not been seen in action since his Randwick win in April but Cummings confirmed the Golden Rose Stakes is still very much on the agenda.
"He is back in light training and we're keeping him nice and warm," the Godolphin trainer said. "I think we will be running him first-up in September. He is a last-start winner of the Sires' Produce and he's got a very exciting amount of acceleration.
"He's got plenty of energy left from his two-year-old campaign and we're well and truly looking forward to seeing what he can produce as a classic three-year-old."
Anamoe landed the Listed Merson Cooper Stakes on his second start, and also boasts a win in the Group 2 Todman Stakes. As well as his Golden Slipper placing, he also made the frame in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield back in February.
