MLB: Correa hires new agent as he seeks contract
Free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa has hired agent Scott Boras, with the 27-year-old joined still without a team over the lockout.
Correa's former club the Houston Astros are 9/1 to win the World Series and haven't ruled out making an offer for the shortstop to return to Minute Maid Park, although it seems unlikely now that Correa has picked Boras.
The veteran agent worked on $630million deals for Corey Seager, Marcus Semien and Max Scherzer prior to December.
In seven seasons with the Houston Astros, Correa made two All-Star teams and won the 2017 World Series entering this winter on top of most free-agent boards.

Multiple teams expressed an interest in Correa following fellow shortstop Seagers' move to the Texas Rangers for a $325million mega deal.
Before hiring Boras, Correa was represented by William Morris Endeavour. How the market unfolds after the lockout finishes could depend on how quickly a deal comes together between the league and the players’ association.
Speaking to ESPN, Correa made a short statement: "I have made the decision to hire Boras Corporation to represent me moving forward. Boras Corporation offers the highest level of baseball expertise and proven experience."
Big names in free agency
Wherever Correa goes will be baseball's biggest story post-lockout. Other big names however remain on the free agency market, these include, Freddie Freeman, Trevor Storey, Clayton Kershaw, Kris Bryant and Nick Castellanos.
Correa hit .279 in 148 games for the Astros, who lost the World Series to the Atlanta Braves, Correa was part of the team that went to all five consecutive Houston teams that went at least to the American League Championship series.
