Cowboys hoping to contain Patrick Mahomes

Defensive co-ordinator Dan Quinn says the Dallas Cowboys will have to be superb in coverage when Patrick Mahomes is able to extend some plays for the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday's mouth-watering matchup.

The Cowboys, led by their own dynamic quarterback Dak Prescott, areĀ 6/5 to win at Arrowhead Stadium against theĀ 5/7 Chiefs.

Mahomes runs riot against Raiders

Mahomes is coming off his best game of the season after torching the Las Vegas Raiders for over 400 yards and five touchdowns in last week's win that was the Chiefs' third in a row.

Sitting at 6-4 on the season, Andy Reid's men appear to be back on track after a run of four defeats in six left them on the outskirts of the playoff race.

Some of their troubles seemed to be down to Mahomes looking like a mere mortal, but he rediscovered his cape last week - completing a 38-yard TD toss while running at 12.7 mph, according to NFL's Next Gen Stats.

Cowboys hoping to keep QB quiet

The Cowboys coaches have been preaching the need for rush discipline, coordination of rush and coverage, and prime secondary leverage that Dallas believe can restrict some of the Chiefs QB's more dazzling plays.

"We'll have to be exceptional in what we call 'plaster,' when the 'second' play begins," Quinn said, via USA Today.

"Those six or eight plays that happen in a game where the quarterback is outside of the pocket - it may start as a quick throw, and then man, this is going to be a six- or seven-second play."
