Aaron Rodgers is being hampered

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers admitted to being in pain as he couldn't quite lead the Green Bay Packers back from a 13-point deficit in a 34-31 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Green Bay are 12/1 to win their conference title with the 11/1 Arizona Cardinals having taken over as the NFC's top seeds, while the 40/1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 4/7 Los Angeles Rams remain in fourth and fifth slots with seven weeks left of the regular season.

It's going to be another painful week next week.

Rodgers completed 23 of 33 passes for 385 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in the losing effort, but the Vikings defense hit him a total of four times, sacked him twice and forced a fumble which the QB recovered himself.

From trailing 23-10 in the third quarter, Rodgers orchestrated touchdown drives of 75 yards and 94 yards to take the Packers into a 24-23 lead.

The Vikings went ahead on their next possession when Kirk Cousins connected with Justin Jefferson from 23 yards out, but Rodgers - after Minnesota's two-point conversion - then replied with a 75-yard TD toss to Marquez Valdes-Scantling on the very next play from scrimmage.

The Vikings finally won it on a chip-shot field goal from Greg Joseph as time expired after an eight-play, 64-yard drive with under two minutes left.

Rodgers confirms toe issues

Rodgers later revealed the extent of a toe injury he aggravated during the game and that looks likely to trouble him in next week's match-up with the Rams.

"It's very, very painful. I got stepped on in the first half and that kind of aggravated all the symptoms that I was having," he told reporters, via ESPN.

"It's going to be another painful week next week and then hopefully I can get healed up during the bye."
